The historic King's Cave is one of the several locations in which Robert the Bruce was said to have had his famous encounter with a spider, which (so legend has it) encouraged him to carry on his fight for Scotland. It can be reached from Blackwaterfoot where you can walk along the beach and through the boulder-field path. This is part of Arran.

The walk starts from a signed forestry car park 3km north of Blackwaterfoot. Begin by heading along the path from the right hand corner, past the sign. Begin by heading along a winding path from the left hand corner, past the sign. This walk is a loop and can be completed either a clockwise or anticlockwise the choice is yours. We prefer clockwise. The path starts in the forest on a clear gravel path continue along this path until you get to a gate. After the gate the path starts to descend.
